If your vehicle fails the inspection, you have up to one month from the last day of the month indicated on your inspection sticker to make repairs and pass a re-inspection. It is imperative that you get repairs as soon as possible, as New Jersey law requires vehicles to be properly maintained at all times. This means a failed inspection sticker won't prevent a citation from law enforcement.
If you failed due to an emissions problem, you are required to see a certified emission repair technician. The Motor Works Inc. is a certified Emissions Repair Facility, so you may choose us for emissions and exhaust repairs.
The easiest way to pass an inspection is to keep up on regular maintenance throughout the year. Preventive maintenance prolongs the life of your vehicle and can prevent the need for expensive repairs by catching problems early. Check your owner's manual for recommended service intervals, and be sure to seek your NJ state inspection earlier than later for the easiest experience.
